Robert Motherwell: Paintings and Collages
On the heels of showing an important, large-scale, Color Field painting by Helen Frankenthaler, The Greenberg Gallery will soon welcome the works of yet another visionary of the art world’s New York School with our new exhibition, Robert Motherwell: Paintings and Collages.
The exhibition, with all works received directly from The Dedalus Foundation in New York, includes strong examples of Motherwell’s collages, as well as large, horizontal paintings, title The Feminine II. This large painting is unique in that it is influenced by Henri Matisse’s famed mural known as The Dance. The undulating shapes and bold color found throughout the exhibition are great examples of Motherwell’s diverse oeuvre.
With Robert Motherwell: Paintings and Collages, The Greenberg Gallery is thrilled to continue its annual exhibition of historical and important artists. This collection will be on exhibit at The Greenberg Gallery from October 15, 2015, to January 15, 2016.
